Eighteen Shades of
After exploring the physical forms of the Indian letters on various dimensions to date, we still got more to explain to the student – The possible tones of each letter. I call it shades of letters. The first letter of Indian Matrukas has 16 shades i.e.max. Some got 12 and some only 2. We will not go in those details here. We will just look at the first letter only.
- The letter can be pronounce with mouth or Nasal
- Further the tone can be distinguished by the flow of air – from top/ ceiling of mouth, bottom or middle
- Furthermore is the unit time taken for pronunciation
With this we can have a sound with one option from each 3 criteria s. That makes 18 possibilities in total. Our Vedic literature uses all eighteen options in details. Due to its psycho-physical dimension it is not allowed to mispronounce unless one is well experienced in all tones. We know form is created from sound hence the importance is to the proper pronunciation. It has considered the mental health. Indian literature is called Sa-Hitya. Hitya means beneficial in real sense (Sa). We shall be so particular to distinguish that we shall not use A for . Hence the title at top got a ‘blank ‘.
Some letters got 12 shades and some got only 2. These tones are important from emotional intelligence (EQ) which our social sciences are lacking to retain. Imagine how complicated it will be to feed this in the artificial intelligence. We have left other worlds’ scripts far behind. Still I have not touched your heart yet.
When we say ‘from bottom of our heart’ we really enter into further areas of these letters. From Crown of head (pineal gland), from throat etc. And we will land to ‘Chanda Shatra’ the melody part of these letters. Chanda is one of the six dimensions of Veda. I will direct reader again to Narad Puran if one is interested to read more.
This much of understanding is necessary to build the words properly. We will need a genius from our student to further develop his career in the dialect anthropology in correct sense of human development.
