Mouth is our instrument to create the desired sound. When we open our mouth gently the first sound comes out is the first letter of Bharatiy Scripts. The ‘U’ as pronounced in ‘U’p. There is hardly any word in the English to give as an example for you. suggest one? remember the A for ‘A’pple not ‘U’ppal? It shall not be confused with ‘A’ in Latin or English or Spanish. The phonetics are clearly different. ‘A’ in general need more stressed articulation. Open the mouth gently and blow the air. You got the first letter. That’s it. It is natural, unstressed and basic hence it is given importance and first place. The fundamental one.  The first Vowel. this same vowel you try with making all funny faces. But remember without touching lips, teeth, tongue and without contracting throat. Is this the definition of Vowels? Try and see how may you can make. We have 16 Vowels you can make. These are the first rows of the classroom. The classroom is very disciplined. The Vowels – Swaras are sitting in first rows. They are allowed to sit in front because they come first in the classroom. Even in the row, they will sit in the order of incremental force/ efforts require to pronounce them and the amount of heat generated. The vowels and consonants are mixed in other foreign languages. The logical order helps you to remember them easily. The sequence is the same for all Indian dialect. Only the design will be different. If you speak them you cant identify the dialect. Only when you write you got your own design in your mother-tongue.  So may have dropped or added few intermediate. How to pronounce it. I can not write here with this Latin script.
